<span style="color: #222222;">Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur has paid homage to social reformer Savitribai Phule on her birth anniversary. Remembering her contribution in the women's liberation movement, the Minister called her a pioneer of it. In a tweet, Mr Thakur said that her role in laying the foundation of the country's first girls' school and her movement against the social evils in the 19th century helped in the advancement and empowerment of Indian women.</span><br />
