IAS officer arrested for molesting Delhi woman

In Uttar Pradesh, the Special secretary, technical education Shashi Bhushan Sushil, a senior IAS officer has been sent to 14 days judicial custody for trying to molest a woman traveling from Delhi to Lucknow on Lucknow Mail. He was arrested yesterday by the government railway police GRP at Lucknow railway station. AIR correspondent reports that the accused officer was produced before the Railway magistrate and he sent him to judicial custody. The government has shifted the GRP inspector who had lodged a case of harassment against the officer and allegedly tried to delay the matter. Refuting the molestation charge, the officer has claimed that he had got into a verbal duel with the woman after she made a casteist remark against him following a dispute over luggage. The Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has said in a statement that his government will not tolerate any incident of misbehaving with women.
