Israel Air Force warplanes carried out three airstrikes in the Gaza Strip early morning today leaving three injured. Israeli media Haaretz, quoting medical sources has reported that three Palestinians were wounded in the airstrikes, which were targeted against a military training post belonging to al- Qassam Brigades and suspected smuggling tunnels on the border between southern Gaza and Egypt. An Israeli army spokesman confirmed the three air raids, saying the strikes were in response to a homemade rocket fired yesterday by Gaza militant groups toward southern Israel.Israel say, the tunnels are used for smuggling weapons into the Gaza Strip for attacks against Israeli targets while the Palestinians said the tunnels are used to smuggle goods in defiance of Israeli blockade against Gaza. Gaza is ruled by Palestinian group Hamas, which took control of the territory in June 2007.
