Ten years from now Indian Air Force will clear off the vintage and become an ultra modern force. New war systems and platforms will be inducted. <br/> <br/>AIR Aviation engineers should pay more attention to the new technology that is arriving. There are no shortcuts to maintenance of aircrafts. Each aircraft cost over Rs.350 crore. <br/> <br/>Sukhoi that will be handed over by HAL costs Rs.450 crore. We cannot afford to waste money due to callousness and negligence. Nation is spending the tax payers money for our bread and butter. We have to pay back to the nation by protecting the sky from threat and help civil administration at the time of disaster and calamities, he observed. <br/> <br/>Speaking to the media persons later, Air Marshall said LCA Tejas is set to join the air force squadron. It needs more thrust and hence the engine needs to be changed. The first squadron of LCA will be formed in Bangalore and thereafter stationed in Solur near Coimbatore in Tamilnadu. <br/> <br/>He pointed out that Defence forces are for indigenization but it should be on time and at par with the best in the world. Technology keeps evolving hence any delay will make indigenized equipments obsolete. Hence HAL and DRDO have to supply on a time bound manner, he felt. <br/> <br/>I am very happy about the indigenization of laser guided missile successfully trial tested in Pokhran. This would save lot of money that country was spending to acquire the technology from abroad, he pointed out. <br/> <br/>As part of the ceremony, there was thrilling show by the rifle brigade and impressive passing out parade by the Flying Officers.<br/> <br/>
