IAF needs more strength as security scenario in the country has become more critical and volatile: Congress

Congress today said Indian Air Force needs more strength, as security scenario in the country has become more critical and volatile. Briefing media in New Delhi, former Defence Minister and party leader A K Antony said the sanctioned strength of Air Force is 42 squadrons while available strength is only 32 squadrons. <br/><br/>He said government's decision to buy 36 Rafale fighter jets is not enough. Mr Antony said during UPA rule, there were plans to buy 126 aircraft to strengthen the Air Force which has been reduced to 36 aircraft. He sought to know how NDA government plans to equip the IAF with more aircraft.
