A 15-member team of experienced mountaineers led by Wing Commander Namit Rawat will go on an expedition to virgin peaks in the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir. The team was flagged off by Air Officer-in-Charge Administration, Air Marshal JN Burma at Indian Air Force, IAF, headquarters in New Delhi on Wednesday. The team will attempt to conquer the unexplored and unclimbed peaks in the region which was recently declared open by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation. In keeping with the spirit of its motto – Touch the Sky with Glory – the team will hoist IAF and national flags on top of the peaks. After the team's successful summit, IAF will propose naming the peaks as Nirmaljit peak, Arjan peak and Subroto peak.
