IAF gets new air base in Rajasthan

Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal P.V. Naik on Tuesday dedicated a new air base of Indian Air Force at Phalodi in Rajasthan. It is the 6th Airbase in Rajasthan. Initially this base will serve fighter aircrafts and helicopters. On Tuesday a Jaguar plane was landed as first landing at Phalodi airbase.<br/><br/>This new airbase is located between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer and will bridge the gap in air defence in western sector. It will help the Indian Air Force to increase its combat power and air surveillance on the western international border with Pakistan. <br/><br/>Phalodi Air base is ready to take up all types of operations of Air force. In near future Sukhoi 30 combat aircraft's could be deployed at this base. In the Inauguration ceremony a fly past was also conducted by Mig 21,Mig 29 and Jaguar planes.
