IAEA team to reach Iran today

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors will reach Iran today to visit the country's Fordo nuclear site near the city of Qom.

According to Iran's Fars news agency the inspectors will stay in Iran for two or three days, for inspection. The visit is taking place as per the agreement reached between Iran and IAEA , earlier this month in connection with inspection of its recently declared nuclear enrichment facilities in Fordo near the city of Qom. The US and several other countries accuse Iran of seeking nuclear weapons, but Iran rejecting the charges, claims that it seeks nuclear technology for electricity generation and has opened its facilities to inspection by the IAEA.

Meanwhile, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Ali Akbar Salehi has said the inspectors will not visit Iran merely to inspect its facilities, rather they want to be insured that there is no diversion in peaceful nature of Tehran's nuclear activities.
