IAEA supports 6 party talks in solving Korean Peninsular nuclear issue

The 151-member International Atomic Energy Agency has expressed the hope that the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula will be solved through diplomatic means, with the six-party talks as an effective mechanism to achieve the goal. A resolution on the issue was passed on Thursday at the ongoing 55th annual General Conference of the IAEA. The resolution stated that the IAEA supported the role of the six-party talks in solving the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsular and stressed the importance of fully implementing the joint statement signed at the fourth round of the six-party talks on September 19, 2005.
