IAEA has no proof that Iran has an ongoing nuclear weapons programme: IAEA Chief

The head of the UN Nuclear Watchdog says, the proposed deal on Iran's nuclear programme presents a unique opportunity for better ties between Iran and the United States. The International Atomic Energy Agency Chief, Mohammed al-Baradei said, the IAEA-brokered uranium enrichment deal comes at a time when both nations are willing to engage and improve relations.During remarks at the Council of Foreign Relations in New York on Wednesday, Mr. al-Baradei said, Iran's nuclear programme was an attempt by Iran to prove to the world that it is a regional power. He said, IAEA has no proof that Iran has an ongoing nuclear weapons programme. Its programme is only an effort to force recognition of its role as a regional power.
