I-day of India being celebrated across West Asia regioning

The Independence Day of India is being celebrated across the West Asia region today with great enthusiasm and fervour. The national flag has been hoisted at Indian Missions and the post across the region followed by National Anthem and excerpts of the speech of President delivered on the eve of Independence Day was also read out on the occasion. Patriotic songs and musical programme were the highlights of the functions where large number of people of Indian community and local citizens were present. In UAE, the Indian Ambassador MK Lokesh hoisted the flag at Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi while Consul General of India Sanjay Verma hoisted the flag at Indian Consulate in Dubai. An Indian worker Abul Kalam Azad was felicitated on the occasion who displayed exemplary courage during a car crash and save several lives in Dubai. In Saudi Arabia, Indian Ambassador Talmiz Ahmad hoisted the flag at Indian Embassy . In his address, he highlighted the strong India- Saudi relations and called upon the Indians living in Saudi Arabia to work for national building. The reports of celebrations have also been received from Indian missions in West Asia region including Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Tehran, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and Lebanon.
