<br/>Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni has written to the Chief Ministers of North Eastern states seeking their cooperation and support to strengthen the government information machinery in the inaccessible and insurgency prone areas. Ms Soni would meet the information ministers of these states on Tuesday in Guwahati to help evolve and develop a strategy to meet the communication needs of the sensitive region. The agenda of the meeting includes extending the coverage of Doordarshan and All India Radio in the region. AIR correspondent reports the aim of the meet is to strategically plan for the communication needs of such an area for an integrated campaign regarding peculiar issues being faced by special areas like the Northeast.
