Union Petroleum and Natural Gas minister Dharmendra Pradhan has released the Hydrocarbon Vision Document 2030 for North East in Guwahati on Tuesday.<br/><br/>The document sets the target of developing North East as a dominant hydrocarbon hub at the forefront of country's energy economy.<br/><br/>The vision aims at doubling the oil and gas production by 2030. The vision document aspires for total investment requirement of 1 lakh 30 thousand crore rupees over the next 15 years.<br/><br/>Of this, Rs. 80,000 crore will be required for upstream activities. It also includes to set up city gas distribution network at Shillong, bio refinery at Numaligarh and service provider hub at Agartala.<br/><br/>AIR Correspondent reports that the vision document sets the target of access to clean fuel for 100 percent households at affordable price.<br/><br/>The vision has given thrust to generating employment opportunities through industrial and skill development.<br/><br/>Another feature of the document is to promote trade between North East region and SAARC countries.<br/><br/>Union Sports minister Sarbanand Sonowal among others were also present on this occasion.
