Hyderabad State Merger Day is being celebrated in Telangana Region today to mark the merger of Hyderabad princely State in the Union of India. It was on this historic day in 1948 that Hyderabad Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan surrendered before the Indian Army. The vision of the then Home Minister Sardar Patel had paved way for the merger of Hyderabad in India, thus leading to the Unity and integrity of the country. The people have hoisted National flag at several places on this occasion.
