Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that powers given to governor for maintaining law and order in Hyderabad, the common capital of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, were as per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2014. Replying to a Zero Hour mention in the Lok Sabha today by a Telangana Rashtra Samiti, TRS, member, the Home Minister said the advisory issued in this regard by the Centre is not in violation of the Act. Earlier, TRS members trooped into the well of the House forcing its first adjournment for ten minutes on the issue.
The Home Minister said the government will uphold the centre-state relations and stands committed to protect the rights of the states.
