Hyderabad gears up to host 1st ever ABU Intl Dace Fest

Hyderabad city has geared up to host the First ever Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) International Dance Festival this evening. Over 100 artists from about ten countries will showcase their traditional and contemporary dance nuances, from the Asia-Pacific region during the festival. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu will be inaugurating the festival, which Prasar Bharati is hosting in coordination with Telangana state Government.<br/><br/>Countries including Maldives, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Philippines, Fiji, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, Malaysia and India are taking part in the first edition of the Festival. The artists, all aged between 18-25 are expected to unveil the traditional and contemporary dance forms. Two artists from each country, one each for Traditional and Contemporary dance forms will perform on the occasion. The Festival will conclude with the performance of the Indian Kathak artists. Another group of artists from Delhi will perform contemporary dance of India on the occasion.<br/><br/>The Festival is scheduled to be LIVE telecast world over while DD India, DD Bharati, DD Urdu, beside local DD Saptagiri and DD Yadagiri channels will telecast live from 5:30 pm onwards.
