The arrangements are underway in full swing for the ensuing International Conference of Bio Diversity in Hyderabad . The 11th edition of the Conference of Parties to the UN Convention on Biodiversity will be held from 1st to 19th of next month. Elaborate arrangements are being made for the summit in which over 10 thousand delegates from 193 countries will take part. The Heads of State form 10 countries and Environment and Forest Ministers from nearly 90 countries will be attending the 19-day long Conference.The Andhra Pradesh State Government has fixed 29th of this month as deadline to all the 12 departments involved in making arrangements for the high level International Conference. The State is spending 273 crore rupees on the works taken up through departments such as Roads and Buildings, Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority and Municipal Corporation, Health Culture, Tourism and Police. About 125 kilometers of roads being re-carpeted besides taking up repairs to side walks, drains, parks and flyovers and beautification works. About 12 thousand police personnel including from the central armed forces will be deployed for security arrangements of the Conference.Brisk work is also in progress for the Conference Pylon for which Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh will unveil on 15 acre land and the Bio-diversity Museum proposed at a cost of 100 crore rupees.

Hyd'bad gearing up to host mega global biodiversity summit
