Mexican officials have issued a hurricane warning for parts of the west coast as Tropical Storm Beatriz sets its sites on southwestern Mexico. Hurricane warnings are posted from Zihuatanejo north to Cabo Corrientes with tropical storm warnings out for other parts of the Pacific coast. The National Hurricane Center in Miami predicts that Beatriz will strengthen into a hurricane. It warns the storm could bring destructive waves, life-threatening flash floods and mudslides.
