Hurricane Ian moved across the Florida state of USA toward the Atlantic seaboard today after thrashing the state's Gulf Coast with fierce winds, torrential downpours and raging surf that flooded oceanside communities.<br />''<br />''The National Hurricane Centre has downgraded Ian to a category one storm as it moves inland.
