In the UK elections, Conservative party has lost its majority in a snap general election that has resulted in a hung parliament. With just a handful of seats left to declare, the poll shows gains for the opposition Labour Party.<br/><br/> With 647 of 650 seats declared, the Conservatives had won 316 seats. Though the biggest single winner, they failed to reach the 326-mark they would need to command a parliamentary majority. <br/><br/>The Labour Party, led by Jeremy Corbyn, did much better than most forecasters predicted, and has 261 seats at last count. Scottish National Party won in 35, while Liberal Democrat managed 12, Democratic Unionist Party 10 and others secured 13 seats.<br/><br/>Britain's news media said, Theresa May has no intention of giving up the post of Prime Minister even though her Conservative Party lost its majority in the House of Commons. <br/><br/>Ms May called the election in hopes of increasing her majority in order to give her a stronger hand in negotiations with the European Union over Britain's exit.<br/><br/>Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn has urged Ms May to resign. He said he is ready to serve the country while ruling out potential deals or pacts with other parties in Parliament.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, European Union Budget Commissioner G'nther Oettinger told German radio that he was unsure that Brexit talks could start later this month as scheduled. <br/><br/>He said discussions with a weak UK negotiating partner could lead to a poor outcome.
