Hundreds of huts gutted in Bandra slum fire

In Mumbai, a major fire broke in a slum at Bandra area late on Friday. The fire gutted several hundreds of huts in Garib Nagar area in Bandra East. Fire brigade officials said while there was no case of causality but three people suffered injuries and they were admitted to a nearby hospital. Railway authorities said local train services especially in the harbor line were affected by the fire. Maharashtra Minority Affairs minister Naseem Khan said it’s too early to tell anything on the cause of the fire. He said that efforts would soon be made to know the actual reason behind the mishap. Commenting on the plight of hundreds of people affected by the incident, Khan said arrangements had been made for their food and shelter. He said that monetary compensation would also be given to the victims
