Hundreds deal in Pak, Afghanistan flood

Flood caused by heavy monsoon rain has killed hundreds of people in Pakistan and Afghanistan. About 325 people died in North West Pakistan while across the border in Afghanistan at least 60 perished. Several rivers in Pakistan burst their banks, washing away villages, roads, bridges. Power supplies have also been cut to prevent more deaths due to electrocution. Officials say the floods are the worst in living memory. Nearly half a million people have been displaced and hundreds are thought to have been drowned in the fast gushing water.
