Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez says he is going back to Cuba to resume his treatment for cancer. Mr Chavez underwent surgery on the island in June and returned last month for treatment. He had a tumour removed in Cuba, but the exact nature of his cancer has not been disclosed. He said his treatment was going well. Mr Chavez's illness has, however, raised doubts about whether he will be able to stand for re-election next year as planned. The Venezuelan Parliament is holding a special session today to authorise his departure.
