Huge waves swamp Fuji hotel rooms

In Fiji, Huge waves have swamped dozens of hotel rooms and damaged sea walls at tourist resorts, but there were no reports of casualties. Police said the waves hit the Coral Coast, Fiji's main tourist destination on Friday, dumping logs and debris, police said. They said some tourists at the Tambua Sands resort had to move to higher ground after water entered their rooms, while 30 rooms were swamped at the Shangri-La resort. Police warned motorists in the area to drive cautiously. The Fiji Meteorological Service said there was a risk of heavier swell later on Thursday as a low pressure trough moved across the Pacific nation.
