In Assam, a huge national integration rally has been organized at the Panchtirth Hajo in Kamrup district on Friday morning to mark the beginning of month-long Maghi and Urs mela.<br/><br/>Large numbers of people comprising Hindus, Muslims and Buddhists coming from neighbouring Bhutan and students took part in the rally. It is being organized to foster unity and integrity among different communities of the people living in the State. Bulbul bird fight is the main attraction of the Maghi mela in Hajo.<br/> <br/>Meanwhile, lakhs of devotees have gathered in neighbouring Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh for a holy dip in the historical Parashuram Kund on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. A three-day mela has also been organized by the Lohit district administration at Parashuram Kund mela site to mark the occasion.
