Huge cache of firearms seized in Mizoram

In Mizoram,  huge cache of firearms was seized by the Border Security Force (BSF) last night. Acting on a tipoff, the 90th Battalion of BSF made a raid near Phuldungsei village in Mamit district and confiscated 28 AK 47 Rifles, one AK 56 Rifle and one ordinary Rifle and 7890 live ammunition. Three persons were apprehended in connection with the incident. The village is located bordering Bangladesh. A case has been registered under the Arms Act 1959 with Marpara police station in the district.<br />''<br />''Briefing the media persons, the Inspector General of BSF Sunil Kumar said that the arms consignment had its origin in Myanmar and the destination of this smuggled arms are yet to be determined. He said, further interrogation of the apprehended persons will disclose details in course of time. The accused were handed over to the police. <br />
