Huge cache of arms and ammunition seized in West Bengal

West Bengal Police has recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from various south Bengal districts. State Director General of Police Naparajit Mukherjee said in Kolkata that 34 sophisticated weapons including AK-56, Insas-2 rifles and over 100 rounds of life cartridges were recovered from Enayatpur in West Midnapore district on Sunday. Police suspect that recovered arms and ammunition were looted last year from Silda Camp of Eastern Frontier Rifles. Police have also seized huge quantity of arms and ammunition in North 24 Pragana and Hooghly districts. The DGP said, police also recovered fake uniforms of security forces from a CPIM Party office in Patashpur in East Midnapore district. Police arrested over 100 of CPIM activists from different parts of the state in connection with recovery of illegal arms.
