HS Prannoy knocked out in quarter-final of men's singles

In Indonesia Badminton Open, India's HS Prannoy was knocked out by China's Shi Yuki in the quarter-final of men's singles in Jakarta today.

Yuki beat Prannoy 21-17, 21-18. The women's singles quarter-final match between lone Indian survivor and 3rd ranked PV Sindhu and 7th ranked He Bingjiao of China is underway.

It is the farthest Sindhu has ever reached in Indonesia Open, and she would be eager to reach the semifinal after beating an opponent she knows too well.

In other key results today, Japan's Kento Momota edged out Indonesia's Tommy Sugiarto 21-11, 21-15 in the quarters to move to the semis.

South Korea's Sung Ji Hyuan entered the women's singles semi-final today, beating Thailand's Ratcanok Intanon 21-12, 21-12 in the quarter-final.
