A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Human Resources Development and Unique Identification Authority of India aiming to access the benefit of various educational schemes to the students. The MoU was signed in presence of the HRD Minister Mr. Kapil Sibal and the UIADI Chief Mr. Nandan Nilekani in New Delhi on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sibal said that it will be helpful in tracking student's mobility by creating an electronic registry of all students from primary to secondary level and higher education. He said that imprinting of UID number on the certificates of individual students will be helpful to prospective employers and educational institutions. The Unique Identity number will also be helpful in tracking the problem of fake degrees.
