HRD Ministry postpones IND-SAT Exam, 2020 due to Corona virus pandemic

<span style="color: #222222;">Human Resource Development Ministry has postponed the IND-SAT Examination, 2020 due to the Corona virus pandemic.<br />''<br />''HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank in a tweet said, the Ministry has decided to postpone the IND-SAT exam that was initially scheduled for tomorrow on 30th May to July this year.<br />''<br />''Mr  Nishank said that the fresh date of the examination will be announced soon. He said, the decision in this regard was taken in view of the current COVID-19 crisis in the world and the requests received from many international students.<br />''<br />''IND- SAT It is a standardized online test for international students seeking scholarships with Study in India  programme.<br />''<br />''The IND-SAT scores will serve as a criterion to shortlist the meritorious students for the allocation of scholarships.<br />''<br />''Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced  IND-SAT exam in her Union Budget speech on 1st of February this year for Asian and African countries as a part of   study in India Programme.<br />''<br />''The Finance Minister had observed that India should be a preferred destination for higher education.<br />''<br />''She said, therefore, under its Study in India Programme an IND- SAT is proposed to be held in Asian and African countries  for benchmarking foreign candidates who receive scholarships for studying in Indian higher education centres.</span><br />
