HRD ministry launches portal Bharatvani containing info in 22 Indian languages

Union human resource development minister Smriti Irani launched Bharatvani web portal and App at Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University at Lucknow today. <br/><br/>The ambitious program envisages to make available the literature and all the knowledge so far been created or being created in India to everyone through digital medium.<br/><br/>This portal and App has been developed by Central Institute of Linguistics Mysore. Speaking on this occasion, Smriti Irani said that the use of technology in the preservation and development of languages is a great boon. <br/><br/>She said that as of now Bharatvani is made available in twenty two Indian languages. But till the end of this year Bharatvani will be made available in 250 more Indian languages and dialects, she added. Union minister said that the initiatives like this one will augment the PM's Digital India program in a great way.
