Human Resources Development Minister Smriti Irani has appealed to the Delhi University to reinstate five non-teaching staff members.
The staff members have been suspended for allegedly leaking purported documents relating to Irani's undergraduate admission and admit card following a row over her educational qualifications.
Irani said in public life one should be open to scrutiny and criticism. The Minister said, since Delhi University is an autonomous institution, she has put forth her personal appeal to the Vice-Chancellor to reinstate the officials.
An inquiry has already been initiated against the suspended memebers by the University.
