<span style="color: #222222;">In Himachal Pradesh, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has decided to set up a grain based ethanol plant in Una district.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">For setting up the unit&nbsp; the state government would provide about 70 acres of land and rail-fed POL terminal of higher capacity.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">This plant would have a capacity to generate 125 KL ethanol per day.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Chief Minister Jairam Thakur said, these projects would be set up at a cost of 400 crore rupees and would provide direct and indirect employment to about 300 persons.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said that major raw materials for producing ethanol like rice and maize would be procured from Kangra, Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Una districts of Himachal Pradesh besides Hoshiarpur and Rupnagar districts of neighbouring State Punjab.</span><br />
