The Chairman of the Hmar People's Convention-Democrats (HPC-D), H Sangbera, has been brought to Aizawl today after his arrest. He was arrested yesterday at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. He was nabbed at the airport soon after he landed from Imphal, in a joint operation of Mizoram police and Delhi police. He has been detained at the Aizawl police station for further interrogation and was booked under various sections of the IPC.HPC-D is a militant group running its operations in Manipur and some parts of Mizoram and the arrest of its Chairman is a major success for the governments of Manipur and Mizoram.
