In Himachal Pradesh, the 24-hours state-wide strike by the State Transport Corporation's employees has badly affected the services of the state-run buses. The State transport corporation's buses are not plying in any parts of the state. The The strike called by the Himachal Transport Corporation Employees Joint Coordination committee in support of their demand will continue till 12 midnight tonight. Several passengers are stranded in the bus stops waiting the buses for hours together to reach their destination.The agitating employees are demanding converting the Transport corporation into state Raodways on the pattern of Punjab and Haryana, regularisation of the contractual employees who have completed three years of service and reversal of policy to privatise the passenger transport service.
