The higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh received light to moderate snowfall on Wednesday while the mid and lower hills experienced rainfall breaking the long dry spell in the hilly state. The higher reaches of Lahaul, Spiti, Kinnaur, Bharmaur and Dodra Kwar are covered under a fresh blanket of snow. The Hatu peak overlooking Narkanda, received the season’s first snowfall, the snow melted soon in the morning. The Rohtang pass and the seven sister peaks in the Kullu valley, received moderate snowfall. Five inches of snow has been recorded in Rohtang pass. Lahaul vally is receiving fresh snow since Wednesday morning. But there was only rain in the popular resort towns of Shimla, Manali, Kufri, Narkanda, Chail and Kasauli among other places. Shimla recorded a minimum temperature of 5.6 Celsius. The weather-men have forecast wet weather at most places of the state, until Friday.
