HP experiences moderate to heavy rain

The hills of Himachal Pradesh Today experienced moderate to heavy rain. The air link between New Delhi and Himachal Pradesh remains disrupted due to rain. <br/><br/>An airport official said 'Flights from Delhi to Kullu, Dharamsala and Shimla were interrupted.<br/><br/>The flights are likely to resume tomorrow if the sky is clear,' The monsoon reached the state yesterday The weatherman said rainy conditions will continue in the state till tomorrow.<br/><br/>Following heavy rains, majority of the rivers in the state including the Beas and the Sutlej are at spate. The 300 Megawatt BASPA hydel project on a tributary of the Sutlej has been shut down due to heavy flow of silt. <br/><br/>According to our Shimla correspondent the silt level in Sutlej water is very high and the 1500 MW Nathpa Jakhri Project may shut down any moment. <br/><br/>The Chandigarh Manali Highway remained closed for traffic near Mandi because of swollen river Beas overflowing the national highway. Recent reports say that the administration has managed to resume the traffic.<br/>
