In Himachal Pradesh, the Indian National Congress (INC) candidate Pratibha Singh is leading with a huge margin of more than 1,36,724 votes in Mandi Parliamentary Constituency bye-election. As per last report came in she got 3,53,492 while Jai Ram Thakur of BJP got 2,16,768 votes. The declaration of result is now a mere formality as most of the votes have been counted.
The polling was held in two phases on June 23 and June 27. Pratibha Singh is wife of State Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and this seat was vacated by Mr. Singh after he was elected for state assembly last year.
