<span style="color: #222222;">Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur tabled supplementary demands for grants amounting to Rs 9,125 crore for the year 2020-21 in the State Assembly today. While presenting the supplementary demands, he said, relief was provided to every section of the society and now the state is coming out of the coronavirus-induced economic crisis.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Supplementary demands include Rs 8,448.17 crore under non-plan heads, Rs 280.84 crore under the plan and Rs 396.11 crore under the Centrally sponsored schemes.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Under the non-plan expenditure, an amount of Rs 7,999.57 crore has been provided for ways and means in advance. Ways and means is a short term facility on which the interest rate is much lower than market borrowings.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Thakur said, the ways and means advance gets repaid during the year itself and its net effect on borrowings is zero. He said, Central Government this year has increased the amount of this facility from Rs 550 crore to 880 crore for the state due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He said, the State Government took advantage of this facility provided by the Union Government so that the burden of the debt does not escalate.</span>
