In Himachal Pradesh, the electioneering has started taking momentum for the election to the 68-member state assembly due to be held on the 4th of next month. Today is the last day for filing nomination papers. With the start of Navratra festival yesterday, a record number of 238 candidates of different political parties filed their nomination papers as earliert six days saw only 45 candidates filing their nomination. With this, total number of candidates who have filed nomination has now reached 283. The State Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal filed his nomination from Hamirpur constituency yesterday while the President of spliter group of BJP, Himachal Lokhit Party and Maheshwar submitted his nomination from Kullu. The former Education Minister Mr Radha Raman Shashtri who left the BJP has field his nomination from the Shimla urban on the NCP ticket.
Meanwhile, the State Congress President and former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh is scheduled to file his nomination today. Other parties which are fielding their candidates in the election in the state are h Bahujan Samaj Party,and BSP, Trinumul Congres, TMC. The Shiv Sena has also decided field their candidates for the first time this time.

HP assembly polls: Filing of nominations ends today
