House adjourned till noon on coal block allotment & Delhi riots issue

Both the Houses of Parliament have been adjourned for an hour till noon today on the issues of coal blocks allotment and 1984 Delhi riots.

Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar adjourned the House as the BJP members trooped into the well, demanding the Prime Minister's resignation on the coal blocks allocation issue.

Shiromani Akali Dal members also rushed to the well, demanding the reopening of the 1984 riots case in Delhi. Holding placards, they demanded the setting up of a Supreme Court monitored Special Investigation Team to probe the case and the role of the Congress leader Sajjan Kumar.

The Rajya Sabha Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari adjourned the House as the BJP members gathered in the well raising slogans as soon as it met for the day. He appealed to the agitating members to allow question hour but in vain. The House was adjourned amidst noisy scenes.
