Hottest day in Delhi today as temperature soars above 44 degree celcius

Residents of Delhi experienced the season's hottest day today with the mercury shooting up to 44.4 degree celsius. This broke a four-year<br/>record in the month of May.<br/><br/>The city had recorded a high of 43.7 degrees on April 24, but since then, the mercury had been mostly showing a downward trend. The weatherman has predicted dust storms or thunder storms in some areas of the capital tomorrow but said the temperatures are expected to go up further.<br/><br/>The minimum temperature was recorded at 25.9 degrees. Both the high and the low were normal for this time of the season.<br/><br/>The maximum humidity level was 53 per cent while the minimum went down to as low as 13 per cent as hot dry winds added to the woes of the people.<br/><br/>The last time the temperature surpassed the 44-degree celsius mark in the month of May was in 2006. In that year, the seventh day of May recorded a high of 44.5 degrees.
