Hostage issue: 2nd round of talks begins

The second round of talks between the government and the Maoist- sponsored interlocutors have begun in Bhubaneswar. As the first round of talk remained inconclusive on Thursday, the representatives of the ultra group had put 13-point demand including release of Maoist cadres who are in different jails in the state.

While Home Secretary U N Behera, Panchayatraj Secretary P K Jena and SCs and STs Secretary Santosh Sarangi are representing the government in the meeting, noted social activist Danapani Mohanty and retired bureaucrat B D Sharma represent the ultras.

Earlier, Maoist interlocutor B D Sharma said the abducted foreign nationals are safe.
