Hostage crisis: Odisha CM names 27 prisoners to be released

Odisha Chief Minister has announced the names of 27 prisoners to be released from jail to secure release of the BJD MLA Jhinna Hikaka and Italian Poalo Bosusco by Maoists. Naveen Patnaik told the media that necessary steps will be taken to facilitate the release of the prisoners.The names include Subhasri dash allies Mili Panda, wife of the CPI Maoist organization's front line leader Sabyasachi Panda. Three others of the out will also be released.Among the others released, eight prisoners belong to left wings extremists groups, Of them six are from Odisha and the rest are from Andhra Pradesh.Besides, names of eight prisoners of the Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh (CMAS) of Koraput district are also in the list of those to be released.After announcing the names of the prisoners the state chief minister said his government has made this gesture on humanitarian grounds.
