Sports Minister Jitendra Singh hopes that a solution to the impasse between the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) will be found during the General Body Meeting of the IOA on August 25. Sports Minister said the Government of India has been urging the IOC and the IOA to sort out their differences through negotiations so that the suspension of IOA by the international body may be revoked. He also said that the Government of India places highest emphasis on the standards of ethics and good governance as per the Olympic Charter. The Minister further adeed that IOA clause for candidates contesting for post should be free from criminal charges is in line with Draft Sports Bill 2013.
