Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has requested the Centre to take forward the proposal for building a Greenfield Cargo Airport for international operations in Rohtak. In his meeting with Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh in New Delhi, Hooda said that an area of about 2,770 acres had already been identified for the project, which would be purchased from the private parties. He also stressed the need to have civilian airports in Karnal and Hisar, which he said, would cater to needs of a large number of people in adjoining areas. The Cicil Aviation Minister assured the Chief Minister that the Centre would consider the request positively.
