Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda has urged the Central Government to fix Minimum Support Price, MSP of food grains 50 per cent higher than the actual cost of cultivation. He also said that immediate steps should be taken to cut down post-harvest crop losses which are alarmingly high. Mr Hooda heads the Working Group on Agricultural Production set up by the Prime Minister with Chief Ministers of Punjab, Bihar and West Bengal as other members. Mr Hooda said, the group has finalised its report which will be submitted to the Prime Minister shortly. Stressing the need for second Green Revolution to boost agricultural production, he said the increase in foodgrain production has not kept pace the growth of population.
