In Andhra Pradesh, the death toll rose to 17 in the hooch tragedy with two more succumbing in Hospital on Monday.The Krishna district Collector Syed Ali Murtaza Rizvi said two persons under treatment died in the hospital on Monday.He said four more persons who fell ill after consuming illicit liquor are struggling for their lives in hospitals in Viajayawada.The tragedy occurred in three tribal hamlets after they consumed country made liquor on Saturday near Mylavaram in Krishna District. The dead include three women.Meanwhile, the state Government has announced an ex-gratia of two lakh rupees each to the kin of the victims.The Government ordered a judicial probe into the tragedy. The police took two persons into custody in connection with the illicit liquor case.
