In Uttar Pradesh the state government has announced financial assistance of one lakh rupees to the next kin of the persons who have lost their lives in recent hooch tragedies at Bulandshahr, Ghaziabad, Varanasi and Saharanpur districts.<br/><br/>Quoting official sources AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that the Chief Minister has directed senior official to fix responsibilities against officers working at said districts for the tragedies and penalise them severely. She has also directed for providing medical facilities free of cost that are ill after taking spurious liquor and admitted in different hospitals.<br/><br/>Meanwhile in Ghaziabad and Bulandshahr districts the death toll in the hooch tragedy has reached 44 with fresh five casualties at Ghaziabad and three in Bulandshahr since last Tuesday. In Ghaziabad a total of 26 persons have lost their lives till now while 18 are reported dead in Bulandshahr. About 30 more persons from both the districts are still admitted in hospitals in Meerut, Hapur, Garhmukteshwar, Ghaziabad and Bulandshahr. In Ghaziabad district 13 persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in illegal business of spurious liquor and 4 of them has been booked under National Security Act while 4 has been booked in Bulandshahr.
