US Ambassador Timothy J Roemer said that he was honoured to visit the home of Mahatma Gandhi and delighted to be in the state from where over 20 per cent of the Indian-American population in his country came from.Mr Roemer said this after visiting the Gandhi Ashram in Headband. The Ambassador said that the trade, commerce and people to people ties have brought the communities in Gujarat and US closer on the world stage.Mr Roemer also visited the Gujarat Vidhyapeet, an education institute founded by Mahatma Gandhi, interacted with the faculty there and also spun khadi.
